There are many types of winches, including
electric winches, winches driven by the mechanical power of automobile engines, and winches operated by hydraulic pumps. Off-roaders use the most electric winches. The electric winch is powered by the car itself to drive the motor to drive the noose. This kind of winch is convenient because it can be operated by the knob on the remote control while standing anywhere. Its biggest advantage is that it can be used as long as the battery has electricity.
However, the power of the motor in the winch is generally only a few horsepower. How can such a small power motor drag a heavy car or other heavy objects? The secret lies in the use of the reducer. Even though the motor can only produce a small force, the reducer can turn it into a powerful force. Different winch manufacturers use this principle to make different products.
Most winches on the market use planetary gears as reducers. The advantages of planetary gears are that the reduction ratio is relatively large due to their small size, and the gears have more contact points and longer service life. Winches are usually installed in tight spaces, so the smaller and lighter the better. Planetary gears can not only meet this requirement, but also produce a larger reduction ratio.
Simply put, the internal working mechanism of the winch is: the electric power from the car first drives the motor, and then the motor drives the drum to rotate, the drum drives the drive shaft, and the drive shaft drives the planetary gear, thereby generating a strong torque. The torque is then transferred back to the drum, which drives the winch. There is a clutch between the motor and the reducer that can be switched on and off with a handle. The brake unit is inside the drum, and the drum locks automatically when the noose is taut.
In practical application, some auxiliary items are essential for the safe and smooth use of the winch, such as gloves, which can safely protect the hands. Also, if you want to attach the winch to a tree, you'll need a strap, a u-shaped lug, and a tie-line pulley. The strap is used to fix the fulcrum. Its ideal length is 1.5-2. O m; U-shaped lifting lugs can connect the hook with the strap and the winch. Therefore, it is best to prepare several sizes of lifting lugs; when using two or three wires, when changing the pulling direction, you need a tight wire pulley. In short, there are three steps to operate the winch: installation, fixing the fulcrum and pulling.
